The Plateau

Jeff Bittner built exIT Technologies into a successful IT asset disposition company. Early growth consulting helped double revenue from $2M to $4M. Then the partnership paused. Revenue plateaued at $4M for three years.

The Turnaround

When Jeremy re-engaged as a growth strategy consultant, the first insight was deceptively simple: the team was targeting the wrong people. By aligning who they called, when, and with what message, exIT went from grinding through 40 hours of misguided outreach to 800 dials in four hours to decision-makers who actually needed ITAD services.

They'd tried seven cold callers before. Every one failed. Jeremy sourced an overseas SDR for $2,000 a month. From day one, he blew the previous firms out of the water. 70 qualified conversations in a single week. The two firms' reps combined had 30.

Better targeting opened segments the sales team had never considered. One of those segments produced the largest deal in exIT's history: Yellow Freight. A Fortune 100 company with $30 billion in revenue, 30,000 employees, and 300 locations. A $1.2 million ITAD engagement.

The Right People

As revenue grew, the bottleneck shifted. Customer acquisition was no longer the problem. Operations was. Jeremy pushed for an operations executive. Kyle resisted for months. Eventually, they ran a targeted outreach campaign for candidates with lean manufacturing black belts. The hire was transformational. Within weeks, shipping delays, inventory miscounts, and sales order backlogs disappeared.

Then came a fractional CRO to organize the sales team. Then a dedicated growth leader, recruited through a national campaign where 1,200 candidates took an aptitude test. They hired from the 99th percentile. That hire procedural­ized sales, implemented HubSpot, and organized 250,000 contacts into targetable segments.

exIT grew from $2M to $16.9M in annual revenue. Not from a single breakthrough, but from a partnership that identified the right people, the right systems, and the right strategy at every stage of growth.
